Summary
Harry Potter has never been normal. Even before he was born, he was a child of prophecy. So no part of his life could be called normal in the slightest. When given the chance to have a 'normal' life, does he even know what that means? No, he's gone through too much to even try, and he's too tired to care. It's too bad everyone expects him to be the upstanding son and heir of the Potter family when he's never had family before in his life though.
Also, the baby is a little difficult to explain. The baby who may eventually turn into Lord Voldemort...no, nature vs. nurture and all, and Harry plans to nurture the hell out of this kid.

Summary
Horror strikes him down where he stands, then. He sways, stumbles to put his back to the living room wall. Harry is woozy in disbelief, watching the two words slashed into his chest in livid red just like the scar on his forehead. ‘AVADA KEDAVRA.’
He knows those words, the first he can remember, his earliest memory. It feels like he hasn’t breathed in minutes. When he comes back to the moment, he finds that perhaps he hasn’t. Harry gasps for air like a fish does for water, and doesn’t find it. His back has slid down the wall somehow and his hands grip his head, hair clenched in fists.
Then he realizes he’s actually panting, a ringing in his ears, blocking out whatever it is people are saying to him. Hermione crouches in front of him where he can’t possibly miss her, palms settling gently on his knees.
“Harry,” she’s saying. “Harry, it’s going to be alright.”
How?
How can it ever possibly be alright again?

There, he rights his wrongs and hires Tom Riddle as a Defense Professor to keep him from becoming Voldemort. It works. (Mostly.) Relationship goals, honestly. Sweet with a little angst. Slow burn? More like they’re ignorant/naive of their feelings and actions towards each other for most of the book. They act like they’re married and everyone thought they were/should’ve been together. Character portrayal is very on point, the plot is good, and the pacing and times skips are done very well. Nice read overall!
