Now all Atsushi feels is the sinking sliver of pity inside his chest as his head drops to rest on Dazai’s shoulder.
“Dazai-san said he doesn’t like pain…”
He says, foot dragging harshly against the floor as they step out of the building towards a car. A trail of blood left behind, Atsushi feels like he’s slapped by the harsh wind.
“It’s not this kind of pain, Dazai-san loathes to admit to liking, is it?”

When the Titan’s attack catches him by his shoulder, Mydei grins, all teeth, more a grimace than a smile. As his blood spills on the tiles between them, crystals sharp as knives bloom from each drop. The Titan shrieks as they pierce through impenetrable armor, but it does not fall, instead raising its lance for another blow.
That suits Mydei just fine. Any blood of his that he sheds is another weapon in his hands.
