Summary
"Yours. Always yours," Eddie answers, sinking back against the headrest, face kissed gold by the morning light. He angles Buck a sidelong look, then adds a considerate, “unless you’d rather not. If you’re tired—”
“No, no,” Buck cuts in quickly, pinking at Eddie’s clear preference. “I’ll make us something. I like cooking for you.”
Eddie hums, pleased, and turns back to the sun. His lashes slide shut, languid as a cat stretched across sun-warmed concrete. “I like when you do, too.”
Or, truth serum: party of two. Unfortunately, they're the last to know.

Summary
“Bet this isn’t what they had in mind for their first kiss as a married couple,” Buck winces in sympathy.
“Tell me about it. Here’s hoping ours goes a little more smoothly, huh?”
Buck huffs out a laugh, nodding in agreement. Then the words register.Or: 5 times Eddie jokes to Buck about marrying him + 1 time where Buck doesn't think it's very funny anymore

Summary
“You were drunk. I know it didn’t mean anything. Everything’s alright.”
Buck visibly winces. “That’s not — Eddie.”
There’s a suspended moment where Buck looks torn, standing on the edge of something, eyes fixed on the horizon to avoid looking at the drop, the precipitous canyon below. But then Buck, who can’t lie, who would tear his own chest open to a complete stranger on the street because the truth of him spills so loudly out of every jagged edge, sighs out:
“It meant something.”
There’s a ringing sound somewhere in the distance, getting closer. “What are you…” Eddie trails off.
“I wasn’t — well, I was drunk. But that wasn’t what. Wasn’t why. Not entirely, or — god.” Buck shudders in a breath, steeling himself. “I have feelings for you.” He closes his eyes. “I’m so sorry.”
~
Buck confesses his feelings. Eddie’s straight. If he spends all his time thinking about Buck and looking at Buck and wanting to be around Buck, well, that’s just being a good friend, isn’t it? He’s being so normal about this, actually.

Summary
“What are you doing here?” he asks his niece when she starts squirming back out of his embrace, carefully setting her down. He almost asks if she ran away from home, because he knows it would make her giggle, but thinks better of it. “Tea party? And I wasn't invited?”
“She's hanging out with her uncle Eddie today,” Eddie says, leaning back on his hands. He's smiling when he looks up at Buck, a real smile, and his whole face scrunches happily when Jee-Yun crashes into his side.
Buck feels like he needs to look away, but he has no idea how.

Summary
Buck clears his throat, reaching down with the hand not holding Jee-Yun’s for the clipboard. “Jee, can I have the clipboard, please?” She hands it over happily, and Buck flips to the second page. There are multiple pages on the clipboard. This is not looking good for Eddie. “Well, Eds,” Buck says, and the way he licks his lips and pulls a pen out from where he has it tucked behind his ear has Eddie remembering just how much wine he’s had. He always forgets the raw sex appeal of Clipboard Buck until Buck looks at him with that sadistic gleam in his eye. “How many boxes of Girl Scout cookies have you bought this year?” Buck asks, and the twitch is back, right at the corner of his mouth. Eddie’s going to have fun with him later.
